What's missing from the apps you use

Most apps in a category end up with the same features, built the same way — and the same gaps. Here are the ones we'd fill first, and how we'd build them.

Hotel apps

Built to sell rooms, not to help you stay in them. What have I booked and does it include breakfast, how do I get there, and why do I set the same filters every time?

Cruise apps

Fine on board, lost ashore. An app that works on port days with no signal, dining that knows your dietary needs, and one app instead of three.

Why we write these

Every engagement starts with the problem, not the code. These pages are that habit applied in public: look at what people actually complain about, find what the whole category has missed, and work out how to build it properly.

They're ideas, not reviews of any one company's app. If you run one of these products and want to talk about what your users are missing, we'd like to hear from you.
